Jason Momoa is nearly unrecognizable in this latest upskirt photo for the upcoming Conan movie reboot which is rumored to be released in 2011. MTV has a bit more info and another shot of Mr Mamoa in a Conan kodak eyebrow raising moment.
For all of you who don't know who Mr Mamoa is then you need to start watching Stargate Atlantis or maybe start at the beginning with the original series of Stargate SG-1 and watch 10 seasons x 24 episodes per season just to get you in the mood for the 5 seasons x 24 episodes of Atlantis and then you can progress to Universe which is screening in the US now. That's more than half a year of not having to wonder what to watch on TV.

Very fresh and fun vibe backstage for Megan Gale's premier swimwear line Isola. Fuchsia lipstick always gives the skin a real lift and coordinating with the bright prints of the swimwear as a added bonus. Some bronzer for contouring and a pinch of Shu Uemura Pink 30 blush on the apples really lifts the skin into a real summer feel rather than the current winter temperatures we are currently experiencing here in Sydney. Brown cream eyeshadow base which is smoothed out with fingers over the eye and a rich bronze gold powder shadow over to add brightness to open up the eye. A final wash of a bright gold glitter eyeshadow to catch the stray light. False lashes on the girls to add more volume and depth to the eye but without being to draggy. The foundation is quite sheer with a little bit of concealer where necessary

- Iron Maiden Gets Backstage Pass to NASA

The heavy metal rockers behind the British band Iron Maiden invaded NASA's astronaut headquarters this month for an all-access look at how Americans practice for flying in space.

Four members of the iconic heavy metal band scoped out space station mock-ups and a space shuttle simulator during a VIP tour of NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Astronaut Michael Massimino, a veteran of three space shuttle flights, hosted the Iron Maiden band members, who were in Houston as part of their "Final Frontier Tour" of North America, with shows in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. The band follows a long line of dignitaries who have visited the space center, included their Queen Elizabeth II, who stopped by in 2007.

"Having a visit from Iron Maiden was great fun," Massimino said in a statement. "It was a pleasure to meet them and they are big fans of the space program. It was an honor for NASA to host them and a big morale boost for the entire NASA team to have Iron Maiden at the space center."

Massimino rolled out NASA's red carpet for Iron Maiden on June 16. On Twitter, where he writes about life as an astronaut under the name Astro_Mike, Massimino said Iron Maiden is "a fun bunch of dudes and big space program fans." [Astronauts reveal space toilet secrets.]

Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson said meeting Massimino was a treat.

"We appear to have a lot of fans at NASA, and it was a real pleasure to meet some of them, especially, of course, a bona fide astronaut who has made a number of spacewalks," he said. "Hearing first hand of Michael's experiences was fascinating."

Massimino gave the heavy metal musicians a look the various training simulators typically reserved for astronauts at the Johnson Space Center, including a look at some older spacecraft.

"He took us round the space station and shuttle and up close to the incredible Saturn 5 rocket," Dickinson said. "Fans working in the Mission Control room had even put up pictures of the band on the huge screens where you would normally see the rockets taking off!"

For Dickinson, what most resonated from the visit was the poignancy of being in the room where the Apollo moon landings were directed.

"The highlight was unquestionably the Apollo Room, from where the moon landings were coordinated," Dickinson said. "Looking at the relative simplicity of the equipment compared to today, it is amazing how they managed to pull it off."

The rockers also got to join in a little fun at the famous space center.

"Each of us even got to take off, fly and land the space shuttle on the simulator, a real thrill," Dickinson said. "We felt very privileged and hope that Michael and our NASA fans enjoyed our Houston show as much as we enjoyed our visit with them."

Following the North American Tour, the band will then shift over to Europe for a series of major festival and stadium shows before taking some time off and returning to tour more countries in 2011.

How awesome to have 100 amazing artists do there interpretation of one of films most iconic villains ever. Launch party is tomorrow night in LA. So if I was you I would get your skates on and get down there. I don't remember it touring here in Australia but it has been on the road since 2007 so my memory is vague at the best of times. Congrats on anyone who walks away with one of these babies. I think I'll order the catalogue instead.

Walking Dead takes you to zombie school

Chomping at the bit for issue 12 of The Walking Dead in the trade paper back to come out and having serious heart palpitations for AMC's adaptation on TV in October. I love that they are taking this seriously and not another tongue in cheek zomrom movie. The comic series is about zombies but more about survival with people in a constant state of shock just wanting there lives to be what they were before the apocalypse threw them together hunting in packs and living off the remains of society as they knew it. Soap opera with moral issues and zombies tearing away any chance they can get.

Fanboyism and Brand Loyalty

Buyers remorse can also creep up on you over a period of time where for me it's about collecting blu ray dvd's when they first came out. They were hard to find because the studios didn't release that many and wanted to dip there toe in the endless river of milking the cash cow. By re-releasing the same movies countless times in yet another "Special Edition"but this time in HD.
But the studios were really slow as there were only a handful of movies in 2007, which is when I upgraded my home theatre and wanted to show off my new shiny toys.
The main reason for the shortage being the whole HD-DVD v's Blu Ray war which created many a fanboy and studios picking a side. I bought both formats and still have both. I didn't care who won I just wanted the movies I love in the best possible quality in picture and sound.

So I bought movies that I shouldn't of because I was starved of HD content.

Now I'm giving away the one's that haven't stood the test of time albeit very slowly but I now admit not every movie needs to be seen in HD. DVD quality is fine for a lot of run of the mill B-grade films. It sort of feels like a 12 step program for HD fanboys to admit such things.

1st step admit your a fanboy.
2nd step admit not everything needs to be in HD.
3rd step A bad movie is still a bad movie regardless if it is in HD.
4th step You can't unwatch it or get your time back which you wasted watching that crap you bought to justify your HD addiction.

Was all of that a justification for having a massive HDTV, 7.1 surround sound in a 1 bedroom apartment?

I love my movie experience in the comfort of my own home. I don't feel any regret or buyers remorse at all on what I have purchased to make it a reality in my own living room.

Is that a justification on top of a justification? Maybe I am Vulcan? Or need to become one.

Spider-Man 70's Style

Since when does a VHS tape cost $65? Well since the original Spider-Man 70's Live Action TV series is not on DVD, YouTube is your only fix for all of your retro funk spinning spidy action.
If it's not the boffy hair styles and awesome actor names like Chip Fields that don't grab you then maybe the fact that Spidy seems to run from everyone ,but only so he can clear some space to go into his fighting stance be it at the top of a building or by the side of the pool.Looking back now he's a bit slow crawling up a wall but when I was a kid that was pure gold. Diffusing bombs that look like it was stolen from Luke Skywalker's lightsaber training program that fit into the size of a lunch box is probably not enough to blow out the air conditioning on the top floor let alone be a threat to the president. Mastermind criminals in white suits flying around in helicopters why not throw that in there.Got to love out of context videos,but hey it was a different world back then and was full of fun for young minds who wouldn't question such antics. Try showing that to this generation's target audience. Somehow I don't think it would have the love that it has today. Thank goodness for hindsight!

After watching that the fusion between kung-fu and A Fistful of Dollars with the soundtrack of porn backing music, I'm not sure which way to fly.

He Man and The Masters of my Childhood

After having a read of the rant from one of the guys at i09 it brought back some of my favourite toy collecting memories which began with Star Wars but quickly Transformers,He Man,Robotech,Dungeons and Dragons was ruling my 80's life.So just a quick share of 2 of my favourite opening titles to those previos mentioned cartoons and hopefully it will bring back some memories in your kidadulthood life.

Robotech was a epic saga but annoying if you missed a episode and back then there was no dvd series you just had to hope that your friend recorded it on the vcr.
They don't seem to make them like this anymore. Fat Albert was always pretty fun and bent on teaching you something in that episode if you like it or not.

But after watching Tropic Thunder and the Benson reference brought back some more memories. Just makes that scene even funnier.

But very fond memories of Metal Mickey, Dr Who, Roger Ramjet,Bananaman,Danger Mouse,Count Duckula. They didn't have such a big presence in the toy world but I do remember looking forward to coming home from school and watching the ABC in the afternoon and these shows quickly were followed by Astro Boy, Monkey and Battle of the Planets or known as Gatchaman everywhere else in Asia. But G-Force was such a favourite so much so that all of my school books had drawings of the spacecraft and would draw them at any chance I could get.

Monkey was also a excellent series so much so I seeked out the original book to see if some of the tales were like the tv series.

Makeup Tips from Behemoth

Great video of Behemoth putting on makeup aka "Corpse Paint" before a gig in Brazil.A bit worried about the constant use of Kiwi shoe polish over the long term on there skin especially around there eyes. But I guess they haven't found anything that is totally waterproof in a greasepaint that they like and is quick to apply and blend with there fingers.
Having just seen them at the Metro on Friday 18th April was just awesome. They were so fantastic and has created a fan out of me!Looking forward to them playing as the headliner and of course a longer set. Head over to Frockwriter for some shots from the concert that we both had fun taking while thrashing to the mighty Behemoth!!!

*UPDATE I now have her and she is one beautiful beast. The joys of the waitlist conversion on Sideshow Collectibles site. I also have her scaring the bejesus out of Riply in the PowerLoader. A awesome diorama and very happy to have it in my collection.

Now back to not spending money on films that I loved during the 80's and 90's. It's easier to not spend money when they have "sold out" instead of "buy now".
Will look to the nostalgia machine that is ebay when there is more mula in the kitty or the obsession wears off but unfortunately I have loved her since 86 and only the glasses have become more rose tinted.

Love the tribute to Alice in Wonderland. Quite scared of the fairy floss vagina that she crawls into and then back out of ,finding herself to have quantum leaped into a gimp Hello Kitty parallel universe. Didn't quite see that coming.

I thought the makeup was quite restrained and confined to only eyes and lips leaving the cheeks overpowered. Fine for instore makeup for a dramatic look but I would of thought a major campaign video would be wilder. Still love the whole concept.

Since this is a personal blog it won't be all work but be about various people, places, objects, thoughts, philosophies that inspire or enrage and there even might be some makeup.
